I didn't spend a whole lot of time trying to remove the cover, but I think its just pressed on. I was wondering if there was a way to remove it without destroying it. Only thing I could think of was to drill a pair of holes and use the slide puller with the right attachment to yank it off.
Having never done the job before, I was hoping someone would chime in and describe the right process.
I was missing one of those fender grommets too for the parts bike. However, I found a usable substitute in one of my bolts lots purchased off of ebay. Which I needed for something else during the rebuild.
