Ok. That doesn't sound too bad. I'm still curious why Kawasaki spot welded that toothed bit on the back. Seems rather strange.
The cam chain seems fine from a visual inspection. It doesn't seem like any of the links were sticky or anything either. It looks like pretty burly steel.
I think I got all the aluminum bits cleaned out...
