Were I riding anything crazier than the Trans-Lab I would use soft panniers as well. Something bomber and waterproof that wouldn't trap my foot behind or crush when I put the bike down.

I have to say the Touratech Zegas have suffered a couple slow speed crashes without serious issue, but I have trapped my foot, momentarily, under them on the big GS when dabbing.

I really, REALLY love those Vern Worldbeater panniers. Had I known about them years ago, I wouldn't have those Zegas.
