thinking that a good reason (ok, really bad reason, but an apparently logical reason) to need to remove your plug "in the field" would be a "drowning" situation. IF, however, that were to be needed my hope would be that the water from the stream would clean out the plug recess. yeah, yeah, yeah, I know kinda rose-colored- glasses, but here is hoping.
truth is, IF you would need to remove your plug in the field, you probably have a much bigger concern at that moment than possible dirt. My Grandfather taught me to do the best I could in those situations and try to keep moving forward.
