I think this may be the problem: I don't really maintain brakes aside from visual pad inspections and brake fluid every other year. I guess I've got to get used to inspecting and cleaning calipers on the Triumph. My Scrambler doesn't lap up neglect and abuse like my Honda, I suppose. :)

I may spring for some pricey super-awesome brake lube instead of the general Valvoline chassis grease I normally use on everything. I'll report back when I get more miles on it with properly cleaned/lubed brakes.

I'd just hit the slide pins with some CRC brake clean or similar to clean the grime off, no lube. Lube will just act as a brake dust collector and compound your problem.

oh and a word of warning these products are hazardous to ones health in aerosols so hold your breath
