Andrade is crossing name on the US side into Los Algodones.

Yuma crosses into San Luis.

The biggest difference between the two is the Mexican States that they are in. Los Algodones is in Baja California and San Luis is in Sonora. For Sonora, I believe you may need to do the vehicle import stuff, which also entails some cash.

I've done the Los Algodones crossing several times in the last 6 months. It opens at 6am and it closes at 10 pm. It doesn't seem to have much traffic, but that may not always be the case. There is also a huge indian casino with a hotel on Andrade road, so there is a decent stop near by.

Good luck, as the time of year you have laid out will ensure that it is very hot during the day, and a bit cooler at night.
