I used the Mobil 1 synth on more than a few occasions in Latin America on my LC8. I had read that it didn't have friction modifiers but was unsure about that. After using it there were no ill effects on the wet clutch that I could tell, so I guess it doesnt have friction modifiers.

I've also used synth diesel motor oil and that worked well too.

I also used dino moto oil on a couple of occasions but changed it out after a little more than 1000 miles. Didn't hurt the LC8 as far as I could tell. over 60,000 miles and still uses less than .2 liters per 10,000 kms.
