The battery doesn't have to power a lot, starter and a clock, maybe initial cycling of the fuel pump.
The only break in procedure I use is to basically ride them like I'm going to ride them. (Which for me is pretty easy anyway). My bike will never see redline, and will probably never see over 6 thousand rpms.
I thought that 90 percent of the larger street bikes would have and 12v 18 amp hour battery. I mean they are almost universal in bikes, jet skis, snow machines ect.. Just seems to me they might have cut a corner because of weight, space, and mostly the almighty dollar. Generally speaking a larger battery is going to last longer from my experience. Not a huge deal but just a nit pick.
