Have been running a Dunlop 908 front tyre on my 05 ADV , which was picking up rocks and destroying the standard , low guard.
Did the cheap-skates high guard conversion.
Supermoto front guard , SX85 fork protectors and removed right side disc and caliper.
One disc , even with the stock master cylinder works fine , for me.
