Which ones are you trying to 'punch out'? Note the inside clip ring in the photos of the mechanic that tried really hard at pressing them out. There are seals in front of the clips as well.

I just pulled mine and they were fairly easy to knock out from the other side. Remember if they don't come out easily, your doing it wrong.
