The only limit, only in the extreme off road, if we compare it with the 990 adv R is the ground clearance.
On my bike the EFI is somewhat a problem for me, but offroad the gearing was more of an issue (its stock and I can change that). When I look at my 990 I think "that thing is a big ass dirt bike", I don't look at the 1190 and say the same thing. It's just my opinion and maybe I'm totally wrong, I'm only just speculating like about 99% of us are.
