I agree getting the very expensive bmw solution is likely the best ...longest lasting fix.
I opened up my bike (32k miles) a month or so ago to inspect my still functioning stator. It was black and very toast!!! Lumps of black crud all over it.
So I bought and installed the electrosport replacement as I plan again to take some long trips this coming summer. It went right in fine...and works great.
However I damaged my gasket and had an slow oil leak which I noticed after a ride on a warm day....result of being an old guy and my sore hip kept me from looking at how the gasket and the bottom bolt can together...not!!
so I got to open it up again. Evan with this short drive, I can see the overcoat epoxy(??) just becoming "milky" ...ie temperature impact.
I may be jumping to the wrong conclusion...but I think ANY aftermarket stator has a finite life in the f800 engine...just a matter of too much heat.
anyone have over 20k miles on an after market stator??
