I couldn't imagine doing this mod with stock pipes! The cats would get very hot if its just a touch rich.
With Akras and db killers I'd go with 175/178. I run 2 178's ( *EDIT* I've since determined that this is a bit rich. See post #2 for updated user results and recommendations)
in my bike with the same pipes. Years ago I tested O2 out of either jug separately. What I found is that the traditional approach yielded one cylinder that ran richer or leaner than the other... Cylinder head temps didn't vary much with running same mains either. As a result, I've ran same mains since 2007.
No carb sync is necessary. That's an adjustment of the cables.
