Now normaly according to my research filters are usualy fitted on a return line to the oil tank, but as the Guzzi doesn't have an oil tank, I therefore have no return line, so would fitting in a feed line cause problems, or is the return line thing just to stop debris reaching the oil tank as I suspect.

Are you going to put a couple of hundred thousand miles on that bike? If so, it might be worth it - but probably not. I wouldn't bother.

The PO had put an external filter on my Eldo. On one trip I limped back from the Gaspe Bay with oil pissing out of the connectors. Its just one more potential source of leaks and road damage. My other roundfins are just fine without!
