Why more racks why not use the BMW supplied pannier fittings built into the bike?

Why more racks why not use the BMW supplied pannier fittings/mount points built into the bike? The OEM pannier that I am not a fan of do however mount so nicely & it looks so much cleaner why not use whats there?
