I've got a Dremel (actually an air powered tool similar to a Dremel
) -- but I chose to use a small file as to have a little more fine control.
A rotary tool with a rasp bit would work, but it can get away from you. I've made previous attempts at shaping plastic and, if you are not careful, the bit can bite and jump on you.
You are trying to make a notch about a 1/4-3/8" wide and a little over 1/8" deep to accomodate the lead going to the light. The lead coming out of the center of the light housing and your notch will be in the center of the top of the light opening.
