Have to agree with everything that's been. The display is a gray scale type and is very good in the sun. RAM may still have a cradle but the TouraTech was much better, the RAM doesn't support the antenna and it will become loose/floppy with time offroad.
The V works well with the maps of the day (R&R, CitySelect) just know that some will fill the memory very quickly which leads to the next issue...
The V's computer-GPS interface cable is a serial cable (not USB) and it's getting harder to find computers with that connector or even the serial/USB adapters.
If the unit is basically free, comes with the CitySelect CD & serial cable give it a try, the RAM cradle is cheep but I would sandwich an "O" ring between the GPS/antenna to prevent movement.
Having to spend more then a few bucks would be a bad idea.
