thanks for the replies guys. I think I am going to go with the 800 and maybe swap out the rear shock for something different and add a scott steering damper. I stopped by a friends today and took his 1200 for a quick ride down a fire road and a little on the highway. I have never ridden a 1200 and I have come to the conclusion that it is just a little too much for me to handle. It does not fell much heavier but it feels huge in size. I absolutely loved the the 800 on my trip but I was concerned that riding in the US I would be on the pavement quite a bit more. I guess I will slow it down a little on pavement. The bike handled wonderfully in sand and gravel and it was able to handle 60-70mph constantly for hours on end it the dirt.
Do any of you guys run a larger screen and does it effect the handling much?

I think I am going to take the plunge this weekend and hopefully can post a new Bike pic next week. I really appreciate the thoughts and opinions
