As you might have guessed, I've been pretty busy the past few weeks, hence no updates. So, a quick summary:

I'm now in San Diego, staying at a friend Ted's place with Cory and Paul. Allan, Laura, and Dave will fly in tomorrow. Paul and Laura are driving a Subaru in the race so we are all a team of seven. We got here yesterday and have been doing last minute prep. Mounting up navigation stuff for the race, getting the fuel tanks mounted properly, putting on fresh tires. Things like that.

Yesterday was a bit odd, as it was cool and overcast, but today was a true SoCal day. I applied sunscreen to my outside and In-n-Out to my insides. First time for each in a year. Did some welding on my bike and the Subaru, good times.

A few pictures:
I-5 south, this is the first part of CA you see from the north; very nice.

Getting some work done in Ted's shop:

Sunshine. Woot.

Paul had some work to do on the Subaru too.

I've got a little more work to do on the bike, but it's basically ready. Just have to make up a pigtail to power one of the GPSs, and run it up and down the road to see what kind of fuel consumption I'll get.

I'm pretty excited for all this, thanks for all the good wishes!
