Actually, this is a good chance to put in fresh brake fluid after changing the brake pads.
I did my rears (totally used up) at 8800 miles. As you know, the small pads go in the rear.
I installed speed bleeders the first time that I replaced the brake fluid, that makes it a bit simpler. (SB8125L M8 x 1.25 <-- same bleeder front and back).
The front pads were still good, but, I replaced them at the same time simply as a precaution.
