I applaude your attitude, and now at your age is the time to take advantage of it. Life will surely catch up with you at some point (or not, look at Willy Nelson!) As for people thinking you are nuts, I'm with you there. I'm planning a 'short' trip to AK from San Antonio next month, camping most of the time, and everyone I tell thinks I've lost it. One big difference, I'm 69, with lots of aches and pains. I know my 9000 miles will be difficult in some ways but I'm looking forward to long days alone and nights under the stars. BTW, I bought a Weestrom for my trip, leaveing the KLR home this time. One of these days, when I finally decide to retire, I might try the TAT. Either that or the CDR. I plan on having lots more years to do this stuff!
