Had to work a little this morning (my normal day off), but I got a little detour in on the commute.
It rained last night, and the trail had perfect hero dirt; traction was amazing!
It's not all like this, but this section has some perfect flowing curves through the aspens; Fourth gear hauling ass type of stuff.
On the east side of 285, there's a gnarly section; A 3 mile climb up from the trailhead that has some sections with not much for a good line; just straight up a root infested, boulder-choked mess. With the wet roots, it was fun.
Of course, no pics.
Well; at the very begining; steeper than it looks, blahblahblah...
Near the top
Got to a snow bank, and didn't feel like shoveling, so I turned around...
Seems like every time I ride this trail, I get caught in a storm. Why did I think today would be any different?
Last time, I raced down the ridge with lightning popping all around. This time was better.
And back home to a cold Modelo.
