Setting aside which motorcycle would fit you best, these are pretty different bikes. The KLR is a heavy 250 dual sport, at 312 lbs. with a full tank. The XT225 goes 268, so the weight difference is more than 30 lbs. See What do they really weigh?

And in a Dec. 1990 comparison test in Motorcyclist, the KLR blew away the other 250s on the highway with the most power and the lowest vibration (it has dual counterbalancers). In their performance testing it hit 76 mph in the quarter mile, so it's safe to say it doesn't actually struggle to reach 65.

If I was looking for a used 250 Kawasaki I'd probably buy a Super Sherpa. Good six-speed transmissions on all three bikes, but the XT225 is widest spread of the three, KLR the narrowest, and Super Sherpa about in the middle.
