IMO, this "news" piece doesn't mean anything to anyone traveling to Mexico as a tourist unless there is some kind of connection to the drug trade. Much like the stats on US children killed by firearms. After you filter out gang violence firearms are less of a threat to children than drowning in a 5 gallon plastic bucket. Literally. Filter out US travelers active in the drug trade from all stats of US citizens killed while traveling abroad then factor for numbers of travelers and time spent in all foreign countries to get some relevant stats to consider.
