i mean... we left near pittsburgh at 5am. rode down to ky tn border to pickup a flatbed my friend bought on ebay.. loaded up the bikes, and got home at 11pm.

with enough straps anything can work ;)
7 hours home with 3 miles of ROUGH road up his driveway.

we pulled the bikes off in the morning.
i think the biggest helper would would be front wheel chocks attached to a board for this set up.
this is at cracker barrel ofcourse, sure it takes a little longer. but you can eat once and survive all day. plus i find the similar layout, familarity, and variety of foods comforting on week long rides.
