What would be the closest place like that to visit from Vancouver (BC)? (Canada or US, whatever is closer).
Those war memorials are really interesting. It's hard to believe that whole wild west thing was just 150 Years ago.
I just hope they also have those memorials for the Indians that were killed by the whites...

There are places marked with memorials for the Plains Indian, some are marked by private citizens of the area, as in the picture below. Most do not tell a happy story as the old Great Plains was killed off to create the new Great Plains with it's ever decreasing population since about the 1920's and decreasing water levels in the Ogallala aquifer as it is drained to grow crops where once only grass and yucca grew.
