I have one from 97, with clear anodizing on the fork legs, low-pipe exhaust and Dellorto PHM40. Seen a few adventures from 98 with high-pipe exhaust and black anodizing on the fork legs.

When I looked at the bike back in '97. The dealer told me that they are special order and that they were available. But this is the same dealer that sold me 6 nuts 6 bolts for my sprocket for $28.13
