yes, and the first thing I did was turn it off, the next thing was right the bike, after that was check for holes in things that contain oil.

if the valve cover is off, I would lay it on the OTHER side.

The rider dropped it on Cleman Mt. By the time it was righted and repaired, it needed oil.
That's another possibility.

have you ever adjusted your valves? How much oil comes out when you remove the valve cover?
Maybe next time try adjusting them with the engine off.
