Last weekend, I was trying to cross Marine Pkwy Bridge, and my EZPass didn't work (big surprise). Usually, a worker (or cop) will grab it and bang it down on the top of the reader/machine. No one was around, so got off the bike and did it myself... it worked, but I'm sure the cars behind me were none too pleased.
The one in my truck has never failed (so far), and the ones for my bikes work about 30% of the time.
What's the mechanism that 'resets' the gate? I'm guessing it's an electronic eye that counts wheels going by past the gate, but I'm always weary that if I don't go quick enough, it will come down on me. Having to re-mount and get moving again after opening the gate would be nerve-wracking...
