Ride n Hike in the BC mountains

We usually do a few of these each summer as to where we use the motorcycles to climb up as high on the gnarly mountain tracks as we can get and then go on foot.... Mid to late summer is the best time to access these areas, too early and you run into heavy snow packs...

We rode in approx 110 KM to get near the mountain before parking the bike and heading in on foot... The whole ride in we were under a canopy of morning cloud which cut out most of the scenic views...

For the first 1.5 hrs we were riding below this cloud...

My Neighbor Rebecca was the only taker for this hike...

Being a hot day, we went through a lot of water so every snow pocket became a water source

Kicking steps across an avalanche chute, you don't want to slip on one of these, it's a long slide to the valley floor..

An ice burg lake

The climb up to the summit

Williams lakes

On the peak, 6200' and the halfway point

A water break looking back toward the peak we were on 1.5 hrs ago..

Last shot of the day, thanks Rebecca for tagging along...
