Boya Lake to Hyder Alaska
We spent the day on the Cassiar Highway. The weather was beautiful and the scenery is awesome. Much nicer riding than on the way up.
Nothing much to report, just miles and miles of nice road and scenery. If you get the chance ride the Cassiar
When we got to Meziadin Junction we just decided to head back to Hyder and get a room and some food.
After a halibut dinner I walked down to see the new bridge they were building that accesses the boat launch and docks. Here's the new one next to the old.
I think the old trestle is definitely due for replacement.
Looking out towards the Canal
While I was there in comes a seaplane.
Here's the pilot, Don Mcgee. He's a bush pilot and fly's to all the seaplane bases in Alaska and performs inspections for the state. I inspect bridges for a living so we BS'd about inspecting, hunting, airplanes and motorcycles. He was completely jacked to hear about our trip. Eventually his wife reminded him that they still had 2 more bases to inspect for the evening so I left them to finish up and I went to bed.
