Thank you all for such a warm welcome back, guys. The pressure is on now, though! I'll do my best not to disappoint.
After lunch we came in through the tech bay where they prep and restore press bikes. Apparently very few bikes are actually wrecked by journalists. They quoted something like 2/300 bikes had been down. Seeing as though these bikes are beat on fairly substantially, that's a shockingly small number. I'd mentioned I'd never ridden a Diavel and 3, 2, 1 seconds later I signed a waiver and folded up a Ducati NA registration card while they zip tied a plate to the back hugger and checked all the fluids. Their GM had taken this particular bike out last, so they had to do things like check to make sure he hadn't ground off any necessary pieces of the bike.
I told 'em I was only going out for a quick ride and they wouldn't have any of that--"Go hit up Hwy 9--and don't come back until you have."
Well, if you must insist....
