My initial thoughts that the road book is a little different this year seem to be holding up. I got caught out by a bunch of circumstances, so I'm not looking to lay blame on anything specific, but one of those was the road book caution.
The road books used to distinguish between "ruts across road" and "ruts along road" whereas this year they're all just ruts. Then what caught me out was after 5 or 6 single cautions marked as "Rough" I crashed in a single caution "rough" that should have been a "ruts along road". Maybe doesn't make a big difference in a car, but is significant on a bike. I'm guessing the road book setting was done by a car driver. Not sure why "RaR" and "RxR" have been dropped, but I'll ask the question when it's all over and things have settled down in Safari HQ.
