Day 2.

12th October 2013.

Lorne - Halls Gap.

Without any real plans, we decided to head inland towards Halls Gap.

Last time we stayed there, we knew we would have to return and explore some more.

Besides, the forecast was for poor weather and I didn't want to be battling the wind and rain on the Southern coast..

Nice and sunny before packing up.

Stopped at the Arab Cafe in Lorne for pancakes and poached eggs.

The Arab is also a popular biker cafe..

Found out that the folks on the Can-Am's from yesterday were part of some organised event in Lorne.

Looks like they were ready to go on a ride out somewhere..

Pulled in to have a look, but got caught behind them as they were waiting to go.

Escaped across the grass lawn adventure style before hitting the Deans Marsh - Winchelsea road.

The main street of Birregurra was closed to traffic for a festival.

We decided to stop and have a look.

Some of us found new friends..

..and some of us found ice-cream!

Our next stop was Skipton.

Back on the road.

Nothing much except farmland out here..

..and distant hills.

The road between Arrarat and Halls Gap is a bit more scenic.

The Grampions in the distance.

Arriving at the Lakeside Caravan Park. be met by our old mate Ruffles the crazy Border Collie

..who is clearly someone's new best friend.

Setting up.

Clearly Ruffles believes he is helping out here..

Went for a walk along the dam wall of Lake Bellfield that looks over the valley.

There be kangaroos down there..

I think I can see my tent from here..

278 km's for the day.

Gps track for the day.
