Mojave Road on a big Adventure Bike?

Not sure about that for us mere mortals!

I have only ridden it once so I'm no expert on this trail. I rode it on a dual sported XR650R about 9 years ago and there are two deep water crossings at the west end and (what seemed like) 40 miles of deep sand east of Kelbaker Road. I was able to do it on the 650 but there is no way I could have ridden that deep sand on my BMW R1200GSA.

I'm sure a rider with advanced skill could ride just about anything on this trail but many of us don't ride at that level.

Maybe there are some alternate routes I'm not aware of. We were also not able to ride across the dry lake bed on the west end because the mud was too deep and up to the axles.

One of these days I want to ride it again on my KTM 500EXC. I have a 5.3 gallon fuel tank so I should be able to easily make it all the way across without a fuel stop. When my group did it years ago, we needed two fuel stops because of our small tanks.
