I think once you get a little used to riding a bigger bike in Mojave, it becomes easier. I rode my 1200 through there because it's the only plated bike that I have. Otherwise I would of taken my RMZ450:. from my experience I'd say in general the bigger bike did fine. Main difference for me was that the bigger bike had the tendency to go to the lowest spots on the trail unless you used lots of throttle. If you can ride a smaller bike in sand, then you should be able to ride a heavier one. Just be ready to sweat a little more.

Starting and stopping is the hardest part. trying to balance 500 pounds vs 250
