Well put but unfortunately I believe that the total cost of ownership is less than 6 of the other provinces if you count in insurance fees etc.
Two things to mention
The road that they were on is a single lane in each direction with heavy traffic in spots since it is a main throughway to cottage country and to the North and is known to be one of the more accident prone in the province. Hence more patrolling on a long weekend
The other thing to mention is that they appear to be from Ontario where going 50 km over the limit is considered street racing where they would be subject to a 2k to $10k fine per instance. They may have thought it would be cheaper in Quebec where doing 260 in a 100km zone (160 in a 60 mph zone) has a max fine of $2.9 k .Guess it doesn't help to video your transgressions
