Day 2. The
We left around 9:30, and we took the new road that runs from around Durrance Lake and comes out at Goldstream Park. You Victoria and lower VI riders will know which one. All I kept saying was "I wish I was on a bike!"
Found Gary's place (I can't remember his ADV handle) and he opened up the big garage door. There it was! Do I look happy or what?
It's a beaut!
We did all the paperwork, got my temporary insurance, ATGATT'd up and headed out.
First stop? Beer and food. In that order. My escorts decided that we should meet at the Crow & Gate Pub for a celebratory lunch. No that's not a postcard, that's exactly how it looks.
But I'm riding so I figured a big lunch and just 1 beer to celebrate. I made it Guinness which really isn't beer but the nectar of the Gods. Obligatory food pron! Plowman's lunch with a big hunk of Stilton cheese. Yum!
At one point I went outside and when I didn't come back the search party came looking for me. The owner of the R100GS I parked beside was at his bike and we were talking. Turns out he's inmate JackD, who has forgotten the ADV salute and has resorted to giving bear hugs. Somebody out there straighten him out! (Hi Jack
Back to Victoria safely with another big couple of days to go.
