Seriously. I'll work twice as hard for half the pay as long as I know I'm the one profiting from my efforts. I'll have job security as much as the market will bear, I'll be able to change direction if I feel the need to, take some time off, or hell I could even work from a foreign country without running afoul of their employment laws.
I can be myself, and not have to lie about my "five year plan" to people who don't understand my lifestyle and never will.
Congrats on your success! It's rough out there, but I'm pretty optimistic. Time will tell!
