Not going to help. THe anti filering/lane splitting laws in my state as well as the Uniform Vehicle Code from which they are drawn are not applicable to police performing their duties, by explicit statement. It's really not hard to make police responding to an emergency exempt from a law. I would guess that you could find examples of the in the California Vehicle Code.

Not that I'm advocating outlawing lane splitting in CA, I'm not, I'm just saying the police thing isn't going to stop it, or even make a speedbump.
