Now John is a pretty smart guy. He's finishing his PhD on the History and Philosophy of Science, with a math minor. He also works on transcribing Isaac Newton's alchemy notes. Really. Seriously. The kid is a brainiac.
So I was telling him about the official back-up plan if everything went to pot with the bike work.
"Worst case, we'll just grab a U-haul, stuff the bikes in the back, and head for home."
-"Wouldn't the existence of a back-up plan imply that we had a plan to begin with? "
We left Bloomington via Columbus and took US 421 south to cross the Ohio river at Madison, IN. Rain had caught up with us and it started pouring seconds after we left the bridge. We took cover underneath the bridge for about 30 minutes as we waited for the really heavy stuff to quit.
Bank parking. As opposed to riverbed parking.
