The Aprilia Pegaso 650 Trail is the Italian version of the F650GS already. As you've already seen from the Aprilia website - it has very similar specs and components. Aprilia has slightly larger fork tube diameter, and I think it has a dual piston on the front brakes, but has much less alternator output, same weight and suspension. Engine is also different because of BMW licensing with Rotax for their version of the 652 (output is on opposite side of engine). You probably also know that Aprilia and BWM worked together on the F650 years ago, and some generations of the F650 were actually produced and assembled by Aprilia. The new G650 appears to have same engine as current F650 - based on the picture above.

It'll be real interesting to see how the specs really do play out, and how much lighter the bike really is, and if it has serious enough suspension to get it done in the woods.

Don't know if it will be an "F" killer, as it looks like it is made for a single rider only, and who knows how strong the subframe is for carrying extra "adventure" wear/gear through the woods. Seat looks like a typical enduro - short ride seat.

Wish we had a better picture - looks like the frame for the XChallenger is different than the X-Country and X-Moto. Engine side case also looks different than current engine, but water pump looks the same.

I wonder what the price point will be if BMW is trying to attract more younger riders?

Hmmmm......can't wait to see more.....
