Lubricates the clutch disks.
The wet clutch needs to have the disks lubricated in order to cool them. If the clutch is starved from oil the disks will overheat. Side effects are distortion of the metal disks, which can afect the operation of the clutch. The disks have friction with the clutch lever pressed, developing dragging and difficult gear changes (god forbid).
