In short, after this thread http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=315528
I was pissed with forever breaking folding mirrors so I looked for something other.
I even broke a folding mirror in Baja when it was folded, admittedly the bike went end-over-end
Then, the final straw was one falling off while riding down the road, most likely fatigue.
Anyway, found these on Ebay and wanted to share. Testing to be conducted but initial viewing lookes great. Low, 2/3 the size of the stockers in diameter but slightly convex to offer the same field of view
The new ones have aluminum brackets and mirror arm, plastic mirror back and convex glass mirrors (I wanted glass for clarity, those plastic ones are shitty!). Not the quality I was looking for but maybe they will do the job, and they are folding/rotating too, completely out of the way.
They come as a bar end mirror but if you remove the bar end attachment they fit right onto the 7/8" diamter of the bar
And now for the AFTER, ready for a ride in the unfolded postition.
And in the folded positions.........slick!
They fold way down out of the way and are on a ball mount so they don't just rotate it one axis like the KTM folding mirrors do.
I am willing to give them a go and see how I get on.
Oh yes, Ebay, $40 shipped for the pair.
