I think your going to find that ducking down brings it in closer to you.

For the ST1100 Andy made a Shield LIP combo. The windshield was not as tall as stock and angled back bringing the top of the winshield 5" closer to the rider face. With the addition of a LIP it was and IMO the best setup for the ST1100. Smooth,quiet, and almost zero turbulance. All this while still being able to look over the top of the windshield. I'll swear by it and would not ride without it for the 6 years that I owned the bike. First thing I did when I got my GSA was to stop by and see Andy at Laminar.
