The stock Mikunis off of Monsters leave a lot to be desired. I had a M900 for 6 1/2 years. For about the last 4 of those, it had Kehin FCR flatslides.

Coincidentally, the FCRs improved the mpg on the M900 from about 41 mpg to just over 45 mpg. Highway or around town the same.

If i were going that route on my R80, I would be looking for some Kehin FCR split singles in 39mm. (I had 41mm on the Duc.)

Edit: I looked back at your vent hose arrangement - can't see for sure, but each carb need to have that hose routed in to a dead air space somewhere near the carbs. They are very sensitive to air currents and fluctuations at speed, which in turn may affect mileage and/or rideability. They shouldn't be plugged directly to each other (which it almost looks like) because of the strong internal pulses affecting the carbs with every intake stroke. They need non-turbulent free air to supply to one side of the diaphram.

When a person asks you for advice, they don't want advice. They want corroboration.
