I went to my sewing kit, pulled a needle, stuck it into the canbus plug and put a multimeter on it to find the wire I wanted. I then cut the needle to length and crimped it to a barrell connector at the end of a 16ga wire. Cost me nothing (I wasn't using that particular needle) and I didn't have to wait. Added shrink wrap and it was done. I put a couple of zip ties on it and the canbus just to keep it all seated. I even left the plug seated in its holder on top of the battery.
