The man himself
Flight Sergeant (Retd) George Roach. Put in a waifs and strays home by his unmarried mother when he was a nippa, she couldn't afford to look after him. Never knew his dad.
Literally had to sing for his supper. Took up boxing to look after himself. Served as a bomb disposal officer in WW2. Got badly shot up in France, later went on to serve in Egypt and the Far East. Produced two children, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Lost his wife and soulmate of 64 years a couple of years ago and came to live with us. His broken heart is slowly mending though will never completely heal. Still got an eye for the girls, still got a taste for the whisky.
Turned 90 last November!!!
