The only vehicle I have ever gotten a recall notice on is my 1990 Toyota 4x4 truck, and I bought it used. Over the years I have had dozens of bikes, cars, and trucks. Dealers are crap for the most part. They just want to sell vehicles. It is not the responsibility of the dealer to send out the notice. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer. I bought my 2005 12GS new from Santa Cruz BMW. The manual says never to change the FD fluid, and I have heard nothing differently from either my dealer or BMW.
I tend to agree with Dboy. If I had to rely on my dealer(s), I would be in trouble.
