F-800 GS vs. Dakar / sweetspot
I'm looking to replace my '03 Dakar with a F8. Dealer test rides do not allow for a long 80 mph test. Anything over 55 on the Dak causes the thumper buzzieness. If I ride the TLH or Alaska your talking 3-5 days of highway droning one way. My two up cross country highway machine is a 1800 Gold Wing so in addition to being an old geezer, I'm now a spoiled candy ass. My question is what speed range is the F-800 GS sweet spot for smooth highway crusing. I only ride two up on the Wing so I see no need for the 1200. Just looking for a solo long distance bike that will run the dirt after days of 75-80 mph drone. I'm too old now to get beat up with the Dakar day after day.
